No, he was actually a hindrance sometimes. Being two, he can ignore you for an hour, but once you get on the phone he wants your undivided attention all of a sudden. Because of my husband’s work schedule, he couldn’t watch him until mid-afternoon, so it allows only an hour or two during his nap to really make calls, although I can do e-mails anytime during the day.

Actually, all of my children were grown and married when I started my business.

My older son now helps me with putting stickers on the back of my products and both my boys are wonderful at ‘testing’ the products (children’s books). I do this business FOR them, both to add income to our family and to have a library of fantastic books in our home for them.

With my children being so young, they aren’t able to assist me with my business, yet. That did not stop my son, though. His curiosity got the best of him and he would get on my computer or draw on my paperwork. After reading an article on the Bizymoms Newsletter, I decided to heed some wise advice and set up a little desk next to mine with his own V-Tech Laptop and a set of paper and markers where the markers only draw on that paper.
